Company history/background
The owner of the company originates from Abisko and has previously owned numerous properties and shops in Abisko, but these were sold many years ago, and the owner now resides elsewhere.
In 2004, the hotel in Abisko was acquired and operated under the name Hotell Lapporten, running as a seasonal business.
In 2013, the shops were sold, and a decision was made to focus on year-round operations, anticipating growth driven by Aurora tourism.
In the same year, a major renovation was carried out, enabling the hotel to offer rooms and apartments with self-catering facilities. The hotel no longer provides dining services; instead, all guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen.
Following the renovation and rebranding, the business has operated under a new name. The reception and several apartments are located in a nearby separate building constructed during the large-scale renovation.
The buildings are in good condition, maintained, and renovated regularly. In 2023, significant work was done on wet rooms, bathrooms, and toilets, with the costs expensed immediately, impacting the financial results.
